Mazatlan FC has officially been bid farewell from Liga MX, following the confirmation of Atlante's arrival for the upcoming season. This announcement was made during the Ordinary Assembly of Clubs, where key decisions for the future of the tournament were taken. The meeting, led by commissioner Mikel Arriola, gathered the owners and presidents of the 18 teams in the league. The departure of Mazatlan marks a significant change in the league's structure, which aims to modernize and eliminate multiproperty ownership. Atlante, returning to Liga MX after 12 years in the lower division, acquired the affiliation certificate that belonged to Mazatlan. The Mazatlan club said goodbye to its fans at home with a 4-3 victory over Toluca, and their last match in the top tier will be against Tigres UANL. This move is part of a series of changes that also include the sale of Atlas and a new management model in the league. Liga MX reports significant progress in eliminating multiproperty ownership and seeks to strengthen its organizational structure for the future.
