On Tuesday, June 9, it was confirmed that América Isabel, a former goalkeeper of Mazatlán FC's youth teams, died in an incident in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The young athlete was found lifeless inside a residence in the Buena Vista neighborhood, in the municipality of Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The news caused consternation among family, friends, former teammates, and people close to the sports environment in the region. According to local information, elements of the Mazatlán Public Security Secretariat arrived at the residence after receiving a citizen report about an unconscious woman inside the building. Upon arrival, the agents found the young woman without vital signs. Later, it was officially confirmed that the deceased person was América Isabel, who was part of the youth categories of Mazatlán FC and was recognized for her trajectory in Sinaloan women's football. The goalkeeper defended the colors of the lower categories of "Las Cañoneras" for three years, between 2020 and 2023. During that period, she participated in various sports training processes, consolidating herself as one of the young players with projection within the institution.
