In the start of the second half, the home team quickly looked for the rival goal and it was that at 49' Brian Rubio scored the equalizer. The joy was short-lived for Sergio Bueno's team as five minutes later Antonio Briseño anticipated in a corner kick to return the advantage to the visitors. When it seemed that the scenario was favorable for the scarlet team, a controversial decision came with the expulsion of Marcel Ruíz after a VAR review. The numerical superiority was taken advantage of by the visitors who at 69' scored a penalty which Edgar Bárcenas made effective to put the equalizer on the board. In the final minutes of the game, a storm of emotions was lived as at 76' Gabriel López scored the spectacular comeback. The last minutes were a back-and-forth as at 87' Nicolás Castro put the equalizer for the visitors, but just a minute later Jesús Hernández scored the 4-3 decisive goal in favor of the Cañoneros.
